The
legendary volcanic island Santorini is sitting in state over the dark blue sea.

Oia is a
former seafaring town at the brink of the northern crater, nesting on a deep
slope. It is a fascinating labyrinth of little stairways, round roofs and
church-spires amongst old cave dwellings cut from the soft pumice stone. Almost
no modernity disturbs the picture. Today Oia has about 500 inhabitants. It is
regarded as the perfect example of an idyllic cycladic village. There are
dozens of picturesque corners, whitewashed houses, steep flights of steps and
blue and pink church-spires. |

FIRA and
PERISSA on SANTORINI

The
capital of Santorini, Fira, is a very lively village with every
tourists facilities you need. It is situated in the middle of the steep coast
facing the famous Caldera and close to the harbour, the airport, the main
beaches of the island and the famous ancient archaeological finds of Akrotiri.

In Perissa between
Akrotiri and Thera you will find the most beautiful and large beaches with
fine black sand. At the left part of these beaches there are many
restaurants, bars, discos and other shops. The soft "back side" of
the crater presents itself in a charming and typically cycladic style with
many vine yards, fields and olive trees. |
